The New Facebook Messenger - On Your Desktop

Hello World. Now you can read your friends messages without opening facebook.com.

Facebook just released a desktop version of their messenger.  It's like Yahoo messenger but a Facebook messenger. I guess the reason behind is there are a lot of Facebook users who spends much more time chatting with their friends online.
So for less hassle - Desktop Facebook Messenger!

Want to shorten your URL + track it in real time?

Hello world.  Last time I gave you some sites on URL shorteners.  Well if you're still interested here's a URL shortener + real time tracking -   bit.ly
Bitly helps you collect, organize, shorten and share links. Plus, it helps you analyze how many clicks it made. - http://bit.ly/vevXuh .
According to Wikipedia, "the website provides tools to view statistics related to users that click on generated links".
Well, why not try and  see for yourself?  It's also popular on Twitter.
    God bless everyone.

PS:
Did you see those links I used - of course.  It uses bitly (bit.ly and bitly are just the same).

Creating shortened URLs

Paid to click that really pays

Hello world.  This time I will introduce a technique that creates a short url from your long web URL.  Like this one:
This link is a shortened URL of http://arnelirobles.blogspot.com/ .  If you try to click these URLs, you end up at the same location.

This is achieved by doing a technique called URL shortening - "a technique on the World Wide Web in which a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) may be made substantially shorter in length and still direct to the required page" (taken from http://goo.gl/r54bB).

Actually, URLs aren't really shortened.  It uses short HTTP redirect on a domain name which links to a web page with a long URL.   This is often used in Twitter.

Now to shorten your URL you need a URL shortening service.  I used the Google URL Shortener.  There are lots of URL Shortening services on the web like TinyUrl.com, XR.com,  and Tiny.cc just to name a few.

Even Mozilla firefox has an addon that enables you to create shortened URLs. However, I do not prefer this since it redirects to another site before the intended site. You may visit their wesite at this link http://goo.gl/HUxPZ

    God bless everyone!
