Friendster now a social gaming platform

From a social networking site, Friendster became a social gaming platform after its loss to Facebook. It now has a new niche "Social Discovery and Gaming".

“We were able to successfully redesign Friendster to become a social discovery and gaming platform,”
Ganesh Kumar Bangah, Chief Executive Officer of MOL Global, which bought Friendster back in 2009, said in a statement at the relaunching of Friendster Wednesday.

The aim of the new Friendster is to discover new friends rather than connecting them with their present friends, Bangah said.

Like Facebook, playing games in Friendster is free but there are options that requires Friendster coins - a virtual currency that can be acquired using real money. These coins will be used to buy apps, games, and more.

With its new look, it will be a lot different than the old one that we used to know - like posting testimonials.

I'm a friendster user since Facebook came. And I'm not a fan of online games. But I wish netizens will love it. :-)
