Arabia, is as any other place, rich in culture. Arabia as we see it now is a bustling community, a melting pot of both local and foreign cultures. As of my journeys around the place, one thing is common. Their culture stays in tact and rich, and what defines Arabia is its roots – Sun, Sand, Desert, Camels, Nomads, Bedouins, Oasis.
How is this possible? Coffee and Dates. As crazy as this might sound, these have kept the Bedouins alive in the scorching heat of the dessert. Aside from Oil, these have made Arabia, what it is today…
Culture Facts:
Qahwah – traditional Arabian coffee. Qahwah sādah (Plain Coffee) as they call it. It is brewed with coffee beans and mixed with certain spices like Cardamom, Cloves, Saffron, Cinnamon. It has a strong aroma – give the spices it is mixed with – and the taste is definitely unique.
Dates – a common fruit that is grown in Arabia. It is said that, that hotter the environment it is grown in, the sweetest is your harvest of dates.
I hope this has been a cool culture fact. Travelling is also learning and I wish the best adventures for you too.
